Cuyuna Women's Mountain Bike & Yoga Weekend

Did someone say mountain biking and yoga? Sign me up! Join North Star Mountain Bike Guides for a Women’s Weekend at the Cuyuna mountain bike trails in Northern Minnesota. This weekend is for women riders who are looking to improve their skills and gain confidence on the trails in the company of other women. Each day will include instruction and guided rides, lunch, and a guided yoga session emphasizing balance, strength and stress release through movement.


The Riding

Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area is known for its red dirt trails that overlook the mining lakes of Northern Minnesota. Each day North Star Mountain Bike Guides will plan a skills clinic followed by a guided ride where you can practice all you have learned. Much of the riding will be on beginner through intermediate (green and blue) trails and will include favorites such as Bobsled and Sidewinder.


After a morning of riding, we will pedal to Red Raven Bike Cafe in Crosby for a well earned lunch. Guests will order a la carte from Red Raven’s variety of hot and cold sandwiches, espresso drinks, teas, beer and wine. Red Raven can accommodate dietary restrictions and prepare any sandwich as a salad. All lunch costs, including beer, wine and tip, is included in your weekend package.



Renee Combs has been teaching yoga for over sixteen years and focuses her practice on Hatha, Core, Flow, Vinyasa and Hot Yoga. Each day she will guide you through a practice leaving you feeling balanced and relaxed.


Package Options

All-Inclusive Private Room $350.00

This package is for the woman who wants to focus on riding and relaxing. Guests will book room of their choice at the 5-bedroom/2.5 bath Cuyuna Bike House rental home. The home boasts space to relax in, including a backyard with firepit and secure bike storage. Room options include a private king or private queen bedroom, with an option to share a room with a friend. All rooms will share bathrooms.


When you arrive Friday night you’ll be met with heavy appetizers and beverages (alcoholic and non) as you settle in. A fresh, hot breakfast will be prepared each morning by North Star Mountain Bike Guides (dietary restrictions will gladly be accommodated). A daily restorative yoga session, coaching and guided ride, and lunch at Red Raven Bike Cafe with beverages is also included.


On Saturday, for those who are interested there will be a group dinner at the Iron Range Eatery at 6:30pm, guests can also feel free to cook dinner in the home’s large kitchen. Please note dinner costs are not included in the package cost.


All-Inclusive Add-On: Share a Room with a Friend

Save $75.00 per person when you book with a friend and share a room. Please note there is only one bed, of the stated size, per room.

Just the Basics $200.00

We understand not everyone wants to stay in a house full of strangers, or may prefer to sleep under the stars. Our Just the Basics package offers riders a daily coaching and guided ride, lunch at Red Raven Bike Cafe with beverage of choice, and a daily restorative yoga session. On Saturday, those wishing to go for dinner with the group should meet at the Iron Range Eatery at 6:30pm.

Fitness and Technical Level

Fitness Level: Riders should be comfortable riding 10 - 18 miles of singletrack per day, pedaling at a moderate pace for at least 2 - 3 hours. We will be riding at a comfortable, consistent pace and taking time to practice our skills and take breaks as needed.


Technical Level: Riders should be comfortable riding beginner (green) and some intermediate (blue) singletrack. Riders should be able to comfortably control their speed on descents and be able to climb uphill on 3% to 6% grades for one-half mile.

Cancellation Policy

75% refund for cancellations made after May 17, 2019

No refund for cancellations after May 31, 2019 or no-shows


Inclement Weather Policy

In case of trail closures due to weather, planned ride routes and/or the daily schedule will be adjusted accordingly. Ride routes may include paved routes.


Maximum Participants

This trip is limited to a maximum of eight guests with one coach/guide.


Minimum Age Restrictions

For liability reasons we request our clients be at least 18 years old for guided trips.



Each guest must sign a North Star Mountain Bike Guides waiver prior to participation, waivers will be available at the event.



There is no pressure to tip, if you have a great time feel free to tip your guide or instructor for their efforts.
